Playful, devoted, sensitive, alert, cheerful.

What are some Physical Features of the Japanese Chin?

8 to 11 in (20 to 28 cm); 4 to 7 lb (2 to 3 kg). Colors are black-and-white, red-and-white, or tricolor.

Coat Type and Recommended Grooming

Long, profuse, and silky. Moderate grooming; two or three times a week. Professional grooming is optional. Moderate shedding; heavy seasonally.

Life Expectancy of the Japanese Chin

12 to 14 years.
